Wisconsin

The war started because the spanish were trying to take away the indians land.

That there family had lived on for hundreds of years.

So the indians wouldn't give up so they started take away food supply intill they finly gave up.

The western partof Lake Michigan is C. 100 mi. (160 km.) long and from 10 to 20 mi. (16-32 km) wide NE Wis.

The Great Lakes offed easy access for people from canada to get to the land. Which is now Wisconsin.

A Frenchman named Jean Nicolet came to Green Bay in 1634  try to find fur pelts.Also the northwest passage.

He was followed by other traders, missionaries, along with Radissions and Groseilliers.

 

Marquette and Joliet discovered upper Mississippi. The settlers in the east was bringing the Ottawa, Huron,

and other Native American Trybes into Wisconsin. Where displaced the there older Inhabitats like the Winnibago,

Kickapoo, and many others. The Ojibwa drove the Kinsmen, Sioux, and others out of Wisconsin. The only Native

American trybe still settled on the the state of Wisconsin is the Menominee.

 

nickolous perrot helped establish green bay in (1667). that helped start fur trading. By the time (1686) had come

along france had gained control of the fur trade.  The fur trade flourished because of the 50-year war between the

Fox, and the French. The Historic Fox-Wisconsin portage was a nice reference to many traders for generations from

Green Bay ,and Prairie Du Chiens that were looking for beaver furs ,and other furs.
